V is for Veronica

Dickeys aren’t just old fashioned accessories your grandmother wore.

Oh, how I love a great blazer! I wear them all the time especially over jeans (and even leggings) and they always seem to finish off an outfit.  After I sold my staffing company, I stopped wearing them for a while as I thought they were too office oriented. But now, they are back as staple in my wardrobe.

So today, I’m sharing one of my absolute favorite blazer brands. And for those of you that travel frequently for work or pleasure, you are going to love this:

VERONICA BEARD

I first learned of it while shopping at one of my favorite St Helena California shops, Pearl Wonderful. Pearl Wonderful found this brand before just about everyone and now many stores have followed suit and  are carrying the Victoria Beard brand. So why do I love this brand?

Well, first and foremost it’s genius. You see, Ms. Beard has turned one blazer into several. She’s done it by bringing back the dickey! The dickey? Yes, she’s created a blazer where you can zip in various types of lapels (“dickeys”) to change the look of the blazer . The dickeys come in leather, cameo, hoodies, stripes, quilted down, fisherman wool–the list is endless and growing.

So when you travel, instead of taking more than one jacket, you can just bring the zip-ins and voilá , you now have several different looks This one being my go to:

My Favorite Dickey

Here I am in the same Veronica  Beard jacket with a few different dickeys–one with a hood and one with leather:

How’s that for a clever multi-functional brand!

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to do a private photo shoot in one of my very favorite stores with Carolyn Cantor, executive sales professional at Ralph Lauren at the Biltmore Fashion Park in Phoenix, Arizona. It was a dream come true!
